Pam Ames is a Project Manager with Synovus that has worked to established standards and procedures for securing Synovus’ financial reporting system. She also worked to created change control procedures and documentation for the financial reporting system. In 2003-2004, she wrote much of the required Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 documentation for internal controls of financial reporting which are still being used today.
A long-time member of the chapter, she gained greater understanding of Chapter’s obligations, responsibilities and procedures by attending PMI Leadership Institute Meeting (LIM) in 2013. She served the Chapter as VP of Membership from 2013 to 2017. She was very involved in process of re-writing the Chapter’s By-Laws during 2016-2017.
Outside of the chapter she is involved with serving on Here Matters community involvement initiative for Synovus, Boys & Girls Reading Club program to accelerate reading for at-risk children, member of allocations committees for United Way, and serves in various capacities of church work. She is married to Dr. Joel Ames for 40 years and has 2 sons, 3 grandchildren, and 2 Labrador Retrievers. She enjoys shopping, playing cards, reading, needle crafts, and music.
