Meet Armando and Eric, PMI Columbus' new VP of Governance and Marketing Committee Member!

Armando ProfileArmando Fernandez, VP of Governance

Armando is a Graduate Student of Cybersecurity Management at Columbus State University. He and his wife Lorena of 24 years have two children and have called Columbus, GA home since March of 2009. Armando served for 20 years in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army, serving in multiple leadership roles, leading myriad or projects and operations. Since retiring in February 2015, Armando has obtained an M.B.A and is currently working on a PMP certification.

As part of Armando's experience, he has trained, mentored, coached, and developed countless of subordinates and peers. He also has experience in policy review, writing, and uphold. As part of his military career, he reviewed, corrected, and wrote the same policy and doctrinal manuals. He recently completed a summer internship with Synovus' Trust Compliance, where he was charged with creating a robust database of policies and governance as described by the OCC.

We're trilled to welcome him to our team so he can support governance related activities for our chapter. 

 

Eric Bush, Marketing Committee Member

Eric Bush2Eric Bush is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in business administration with a focus in Project Management at Colorado Technical University. He has been employed at Synovus in Columbus, GA for 6 years as a Deposit Maintenance Specialist, where he is also a member of the Growth and Development team that works to develop company initiatives that aid team members in professional development.

His professional interests focus is on Project Management in the technology and/or media fields. His passion is working with local talent through setting up interviews, websites, music videos and other forms of exposure to help shine a light on the tri-city areas hidden gems. Eric is an athletic enthusiast; his hobbies consist of amateur boxing, and to a lesser degree basketball and soccer. Eric’s goal in the future is to establish a project management program in the community that shows youth and adults alike how their everyday tasks can translate over to the project management field as a skill they can use to better their life.

We're excited to have Eric on our team as he brings enthusiasm, new ideas and creativity as a millenial to help us with any marketing and communication related activities.
