Chapter Information

How often does the local PMI chapter meet? 

The PMI Columbus, GA Chapter conducts chapter meetings on the second Thursday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m.  General membership updates are covered at the beginning of the meeting followed by speaker introductions and content.  Monthly chapter meetings are still being held virtually at this time but we are beginning to conduct other hybrid or in-person meetings so check our event page for details.

I’m not getting emails from the PMI Columbus, GA Chapter. What should I do? 

To ensure that you get emails from PMI Columbus, GA, review your profile on PMI.org for accuracy.  Once your email address is updated, your email with PMI Columbus, GA should also be updated through our website integration.

If that does not work, contact our VP of Membership to describe the problems that you are experiencing. We will get with you as soon as we can.

Membership Information

How do I apply for PMI membership? 

Join or renew chapter membership here or go to Join and choose Become a Member to get details.  Annual dues are $129 for individual members, $32 for students, and $65 for retirees, plus a $10 application fee for new members.  Annual renewal is $129 for individual members, $32 for students, and $65 for retirees.

Chapter members receive discounted fees when registering for chapter sponsored events. If you are already a member of Global PMI, you can become a member of the local PMI Columbus, GA Chapter for an annual fee of $25.

Membership in PMI does not require Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification. By joining PMI, you agree to adhere to the PMI Member Code of Ethics. 

How can I transfer membership from another chapter? 

Membership can be transferred between chapters without additional cost to the PMI member. Members have several options including:

  1. Call PMI Customer Support at (610) 915-2273 and follow the prompts for PMI Membership. PMI Customer Support can transfer membership to the new chapter
  2. Text "Hello PMI" via WhatsApp at (855) 643-1873
  3. Text "Hello PMI" through your messaging app at (610) 215-2587
  4. Use the Live Chat feature available on the PMI.org Contact Us page

Do I have to be a member of PMI in order to be a member of PMI Columbus, Ga chapter? 

You must be a member of PMI in order to be a member of the PMI Columbus, GA Chapter. You can become a member of the local PMI Columbus, GA Chapter for an annual fee of $25. Visit our become a member page for more information or contact our VP of Membership.

 

Are there any group billing options?

Professional Development Units (PDUs)

How do I claim PDUs for membership meetings and other Chapter Events? 

PMI Columbus, GA Chapter reports PDUs for all chapter members who attend our events provided that you register or check in for the event. They can also self-report with the information provided here.

How do I download the most current Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide? 

To download the most current PMBOK® Guide, click here. When you download or print the PMBOK® Guide from PMI.org, it will be marked with a personalized notice stating, "Licensed to (first name, last name, PMI member ID).  This copy is a PMI Member Benefit, not for distribution, sale or reproduction."  The file is licensed to you for your personal use only and can be using your PMI.org password.

Professional Development

Can I attend a chapter meeting without being a PMI member or Project Manager? 

The PMI Columbus, GA Chapter welcomes PMI members and guests to our events. You are not required to be a practicing project manager to attend meetings or to join the organization.
