We would like to extend some volunteer opportunities that are available within our chapter such as the VP of Marketing, VP of Governance and PMIef Liaison positions, see brief description and information on how to apply below.
We are committed to working with each volunteer to build a mutually beneficial relationship in which each volunteer can use their strengths, passion and dedication to not only benefit the profession and Columbus, GA Chapter, but to positively enhance your own personal and professional life as well.
There are many benefits of becoming a member of our Chapter Board of Directors such as the ability to earn additional PDUs , network with colleagues , giving back to the community and promote interest of the profession within the region , just to name a few. The only pre-requisites for these positions are to be a PMI member and local chapter member in good standing. Since this position do not require a PMP certification, it's okay if you don't have one just yet.
A brief description of the roles:
Vice President of Marketing: The Vice President of Marketing is an elected or appointed volunteer responsible for chapter-based marketing and public relations to increase awareness of both the chapter and the PMI brand within the territory. The VP of Marketing will develop and execute an integrated marketing and public relations program to support member acquisition, member retention, event promotion, outreach activities, sponsorships and other related activities in alignment with the chapter's strategic objectives. These activities shall be performed in accordance with chapter bylaws and PMI policies, brand guidelines and global marketing strategy.
Vice President of Governance: The Vice President of Governance shall be responsible for providing guidance to ensure The Vice President of Governance shall be responsible for providing guidance to ensure the chapter bylaws are upheld and enforced, that policies and procedures established by PMI are followed and that policies are consistent and compliant with all applicable governmental jurisdiction and regulations. The VP of Governance must be aware of the Ethics Review Processand raise awareness of and provide training on code of conduct/regulations/processes. Any chapter policy manual or information security policy will be developed and maintained by theVP of Governance. The VP of Governance will also address any breeches that may be broughtup against a member and/or the chapter and assists in resolving chapter conflicts. In the absence of a chapter Assistant Vice President Finance, the VP of Governance will also review the monthly chapter financial statements. The VP of Governance shall also maintain and deliver all permanent records to the position successor as required.
PMIef Liaison: The PMI Educational Foundation Liaison provides a vital communications and activities link between the PMI Educational Foundation and the PMI chapter for the purpose of promoting awareness of PMIEF and providing increased value for PMI chapter members.
